win11 has made my life hell tbh with the lack of customization. I've found some workarounds and basically don't use the start menu at all atp; but my favorite update recently has been changing up my desktop icons.

to fill in any gaps and cause myself just the right amount of eyestrain, I also dounloaded this amazing collecion of the original windows 95 icons. bless internet archive forever and ever. someone is tryna sell a smaller version of this on etsy, which really grinds my gears ngl.

BTW @* artwork * has a page dedicated to old-web images that features a lot of these icons as gifs (a lot of them animated) ... it's so good and if you like pixels and/or old web nostalgia, you should check it out.
